Another thing I noticed about Portland was all the cool signage. Like, is there a higher concentration of graphic designers and artists there? Cus people seem to take color and fonts and things very seriously there! I also noticed this about house colors, but I didn’t want to take a ton of pics of private residences!
I know that Portland is the City of Roses (I’ll get to that later), but when I was there I couldn’t help but notice (and photograph) some of the many fire escapes. I’m not sure why these pop out at me. Perhaps fire escapes will be added to my list of idiosyncratic photography subjects (along with tree textures and dentil molding on old buildings).
I recently had my wisdom teeth out. They were going sideways and topsy turvy and making trouble in my mouth. When you can feel them, it’s time for them to go. Yet, in retrospect, I can’t help feeling as though I should have just left them alone, since my surgery did not go well. Basically, immediately after my surgery, my mouth became infected…with a very strong and aggressive bacteria. What should have taken a few days to heal has taken a lot longer than that and required a trip to ER when my jaw/neck/face swelled up to Sloth-sized proportions. I am still not well yet, and will need even more recovery time still.
And I really liked these urban graffiti style art installations glued to a small wall. They really spoke to me.
